If you’re buying a new vehicle it will come with factory warranty which will start at the time of purchase.
Most warranties are 3 year/60,000 kms Comprehensive and 5 year/100,000 kms Powertrain. If you’re buying a pre-owned vehicle, it may or may not have a balance of factory warranty remaining. This isn’t something to stress about since there are great options for extended warranties available depending on your individual driving needs.
Vehicles can be serviced under the manufacturer warranty at any retail dealer across Canada within your brand. In other words, your local dealer will be able to access all your warranty information and service your vehicle accordingly. Extended warranties can also be executed at the same retailers.
